HULL SECURE THOMPSON DEAL

Hull FC have secured the services of another potential England star of the future after confirming the signing of versatile Castleford player Jordan Thompson on a three-year deal.
The 22-year-old has had a rapid rise to seniority in the Tigers ranks after progressing through their academy setup and having played for the England youth sides, has gone on to make 71 appearances for the club.
Starting out as a utility back, covering every position in the back line, Thompson has since developed into an athletic and mobile back rower with an eye for the try line.
His arrival in 2014 will add another new dimension to the Black and Whites' pack alongside the likes of captain Gareth Ellis and loose forward Joe Westerman, as well as Tongan powerhouse Mickey Paea who is also signed up for next season.
Head coach Peter Gentle believes it's another useful piece of recruitment as he builds a young and home-grown squad for 2014 and beyond.
"We've made no secret of the fact that long-term we want to develop a squad of young, hungry and English players here that can be the nucleus of the side for years to come.
"Jordan fits that bill for sure. He progressed well as a youngster through the national setup and in time I believe will be pushing for full honours with the Knights and ETS squads.
"He's developed into a strong edge back rower at Castleford having started life in the backs.
He's quick, mobile and has good game sense and with a tall frame he can develop into a useful addition to our back row."
He added, "There is no doubt that I see him playing in the pack, that is where we have signed him to play, but having players of that calibre that can cover a number of positions is always very valuable."
Thompson has scored 25 tries in 71 appearances for the Tigers to date, having joined them from amateur side Normanton Knights as a youngster.
He has played full back, wing and centre, before establishing himself more latterly as a back row forward.
In his breakthrough year in 2010, he played in integral role in the notable England Schoolboys series win over the Australian Schoolboys.
