HULL FC MAKE O’CARROLL AND ELLIS AVAILABLE

By Matt Holden | Monday, 25 June 2012

Hull FC have confirmed that Eamon O’Carroll and Jamie Ellis are allowed to speak to other clubs with a view to securing a deal elsewhere.

Both players arrived at the KC Stadium for 2012 and are under contract, however, having held talks with the club in recent weeks it has been agreed that they would be allowed to leave should they be approached by another club.

O’Carroll agreed a three-year deal with the Black and Whites midway through last season before heading to East Yorkshire in the off season, but the prop has seen his opportunities limited this term.

Speaking about the 25-year-old, Hull FC’s Director of Rugby, Shaun McRae, commented, "We've got nothing but the greatest respect for Eamon, he is a fantastic player to have at the club.

"His commitment on and off the field cannot be faulted and he is a popular character, certainly amongst our players and fan base.

"However, as is sometimes the case in sport the current circumstances haven't quite suited the player or the club.

"Eamon is now free to speak to other clubs and we understand there has been significant interest.”

Meanwhile, Ellis is another player who could be set to leave the KC Stadium having struggled to rekindle the form that saw him named Championship Player of the Year last season.

The young half back has another year left to run on his contract but the club have agreed to release him from his current deal should he find a potential suitor.

However, at this stage both players remain contracted to Hull FC and are available for selection by head coach Peter Gentle.
